It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time
In an attempt to remedy our dismally poor correspondance habits, we're trying out the whole blog thing to keep in touch and keep interested parties updated on our family. Wouldn't it be cool if I actually manage to keep up with it? It seems like a good idea now, but we'll see how it goes. John The Husband has been pretty good about taking pictures of the boys lately, so we'll be sure to post lots of pics for various grandparents, aunties, unlces, etc.
What have the boys been up to lately, you ask?
John is in the 7th grade and has acclimated to junior high without a hitch. He currently plays clarinet and oboe in the band, and just finished up a stint on the cross country team. Track has started now, and he's been working on his high jump. He also keeps busy with tennis and Boy Scouts.
CJ is a fifth grader. He loves homeschooling and is absolutely thriving with it. The combination of charter school and homeschooling is just the ticket for him. He just transitioned from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts and is enjoying it. His hobbies include Yu-Gi-Oh cards, origami, and drawing/cartooning.
Noah is a great big first grader now. He also loves homeschooling, and is progressing at a pretty impressive pace. Last year he realized his lifelong dream of joining cub scouts, just like his brothers. One of his newest hobbies is attempting to eat us out of house and home. His current saying is, "Hey, dinner is my meal." The child puts away more food at dinner than either of his older brothers.
Rosa the Hamster has been with our family since late July. Her current hobbies include stuffing her cheeks with food, loudly spinning her hamster wheel while the family sleeps, and shredding the hell out of a large basket in her cage.
Janet the Fish was gracious enough to spit out a litter of babies in her plastic bag on the way home from the pet store (which prompted Noah to change her name, until then he'd been calling her Jeff). Her hobbies seem to be swimming, eating, and pooping.
Here's a little something something for those of you in need of a picture fix. It was taken over Thanksgiving weekend somewhere between San Simeon and Monterey.
